Metagran Company Limited, a research and production company, develops and produces new construction materials and parts made of magnesium alloys, using the method of high-speed crystallisation.

Currently, a technological process has been developed, which can be used to obtain magnesium alloy granules, and the manufacturing of extruded semi-finished materials (bars, tubings, profiles, strips) and forged parts.

New compositions of granular magnesium alloys, which have no analogue in their physical-mechanical and technological properties, are also being developed.

In addition to the possibility of producing new construction materials, the newly developed method of manufacturing granular magnesium alloy parts allows to significantly increase the physical-mechanical properties of serial magnesium alloys, which is confirmed by the VIAM certificates:

• Granular magnesium material MA2-1gr – No. 1.595.001.90
• Granular magnesium material MA14gr – No. 1.595.002.90.

The main advantages of the granular magnesium alloys comparing to standard alloys:

• mechanical properties increase by 1.3 – 1.5 times;
• impact elasticity 3-fold increase;
• large diameter tubings (up to 300 mm).
• weldability of MA14gr, K = 0.8;

One of the advantages of Metagran's equipment, is in its ability of obtaining extruded semi-finished parts and products with a chemical composition conforming to the customer's specifications, the ASTM, DIN, etc. standards and international ISO and EN standards.

Our company specialises in the design and manufacturing of complex-shaped parts from high-tensile and heat-resistant magnesium-based alloys using the method of isothermal hot-forging.

The uses of new magnesium-based construction materials, obtained using the method of high-speed crystallisation, are being researched for various industry applications.

For instance, high-speed crystallised heat-resistant magnesium alloys can be used for engine pistons.

Metagran is currently the only manufacturer in the world producing super-light bicycle frames for sports professionals and general consumers made of hot-pressed MA2-1gr granular magnesium alloy tubings, with unique mechanical properties.
